National Forage Breeding Innovation Base(JAAS) was approved by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs in 2017 and constructed from 2017 to 2019. It is the first national forage breeding innovation base in southern China. At present, 175 m2 inspection laboratory, 204 m2 sample storage room and 150 m2 agricultural machinery storage room have been rebuilt and 855 m drainage ditches have been improved. 768 m2 new thin-film greenhouse, 496 m2 new glass greenhouse, 6640m2 new mesh chamber, new irrigation system for 3.8-hectare land, two new reservoirs and one new pump house have been built. The soil of 7.53-hectare land has been improved. The Base boasts 24 sets of analytical instruments and agricultural equipment, which can meet the needs of physiological and biochemical analysis, nutritional quality analysis and molecular biology research in forage breeding research. At the same time, the Base is also equipped with seed selection, drying, automatic seed testing, precision seeding equipment and the real-time data acquisition, monitoring and control system for meteorological data acquisition, automatic control of glass greenhouse and seedbed.
