Research Directions: researches on breeding of new pear varieties, researches on high-quality and labor-saving cultivation techniques of pears, and researches on pear stress physiology.

Main Achievements: Since the 12th Five-Year Plan, 4 new varieties of Su Cui pear series have been bred, of which' Su Cui No.1' and' Su Cui No.2' have been granted variety rights and well popularized and applied in production. The lab authorized 24 invention patents, issued 6 Jiangsu local standards, and published more than 90 papers. In 2011, the “Innovation and Integrated Application of Key Technologies for High Quality, High Efficiency and Safe Production of Pears” won the second prize of Jiangsu Province Science and Technology Award.
