KRIBB researchers invited to Institute of Food Crops for academic exchanges

Prof. Kwak Sang Soo and Dr. Kim Ho Soo from Korean Research Institute of Bioscience and Biotechnology (KRIBB), were invited to visit Institute of Food Crops(the Institute) and gave academic talks from May 7th to 8th. Deputy Director of the Institute, Bian Xiaofeng, presided over the academic meeting, which was attened by some sweetpotato researchers from the Institute.

Prof. Kwak Sang Soo and Dr. Kim Ho Soo respectively presented academic reports titled "Sweetpotato biotechnology for sustainable food and nutrition security in the face of climate crisis" and "Functional analysis of IbOr gene to enhance cardiovascular accumulation and abiotic stress tolerance in Sweetpotato". They also visited the sweetpotato seedbed and molecular breeding laboratory of the Institute. Further cooperation on improving the stress tolerance and elucidating the metabolic mechanism of major nutrients of sweetpotato was discussed during this visit.
