Research Achievements of Combined Drying Technology for Healthy Fruit and Vegetable Snack Food

Diversified physical field combined drying technology systems have been developed to produce natural and additive-free puffed snack food with high retention of nutrient flavored substances and good crispness. It has promoted the upgrading and updating of fruit and vegetable drying technology and the rapid development of snack food industry.

The technology has been applied in 12 enterprises and increased the efficiency by more than RMB 5 billion, added the sales by RMB 2.428 billion and the profits by RMB 294 million in the past two years. The achievements have been granted with 25 invention patents, 11 utility model patents, with 12 public proclaimed invention patents, 9 standards formulated, 142 papers published, including 50 SCI papers and 1 monograph. As evaluated by Professor Sun Baoguo, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, the achievements have achieved the international advanced level in general. Some of the achievements even reached international leading level. The achievements have won the Science and Technology Award of China National Food Industry Association (CNFIA) Special Prize and the second prize of Jiangsu Science and Technology Award.
