Professional experience:

After graduated from Jiangsu Agricultural College in 1982, I was employed by Suzhou Agricultural Cadre Training School and worked as a teacher for teaching plant genetics and breeding. Since graduated from Nanjing Agricultural University, I have been employed by the Institute of Food Crops, Jiangsu Academy of Agricultural Sciences and engaged in research on rice genetics and breeding all along. I worked as a Professor. In recent years, I devote myself to breeding for super rice with high yield and good quality. I have developed 15 japonica rice varieties, 3 indica hybrid varieties, one japonica sterile line and 2 indica sterile lines registered by provincial and National crop registration committee. The "Nangeng 44" was grown in the largest area in Jiangsu Province in 2009 and was named as super rice in 2010 by the Ministry of Agriculture of China. Its cumulative planting area was over one million hectare. "Nangeng 46", "Nangeng 5055" and "Nangeng 9108" were known as " the best rice with eating quality" in Jiangsu Province. I have got 24 national invention patents and 54 Certificates of the Protection of New Varieties of Plants. I have gotten one first grade prize of national science and technology progress, one second prize of the National Invention, eight first grade prize and five second grade prize of provincial science and technology progress. I have published more than 300 papers in academic journals and edited three books. I have trained 23 graduate students, guiding 2 doctoral and 7 postdoctoral.
