The conservation and utilization of insects provide opportunities for resolving the conflicts between the growing material and mental needs of human beings and the depletable natural resource, which is one of today’s greatest challenges. Researchers of the insect utilization group focus on ornamental and edible insects, especially the Lepidoptera in Jiangsu province. They develop domestication and breeding techniques and scenario-based products by resolving the adaptive mechanism of insects. The scholars work closely with scientists, industries, and the administrations of natural scenic areas for creating new lifestyles filled with the joy of insects.
