Key Laboratory for Agricultural Environment at the Lower Reach of the Yangtze River Plain, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs

Key Laboratory for Agricultural Environment at the Lower Reach of the Yangtze River Plain, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, was founded in 2011, which belongs to Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs. Given the technology demands of the agricultural environment protection and beautiful countryside construction, the laboratory members have carried out a series of scientific researches and associated technology development, integration and demonstration. The key laboratory is operated in accordance with the mechanisms of "open, mobility, unity and competition", focusing on making efficient use of science and technology resource of the regional agricultural environment research field and establishing a domestic leading agricultural environment research and communication platform.

The laboratory area is about 3000 m2, possessing approximately 51 instruments with the total value of 14 billons, including Stationary Isotope Mass Spectrometer, GC-MS, Microbial Identification System, Portable Ground Object Spectrometer, Differential Global Positioning Equipment, Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer, HPLC, Gaschromatograph, etc. There are several investigation bases in cities of Nanjing (Luhe and Tangshan), Zhenjiang, Suzhou and Yixing, etc. There are 42 staffs in the present, including 13 professors,17 associate-professors.

The research director is Pro. Linzhang, Yang who is also the chief scientist. There are three major research directions as follows: (1) Agricultural non-point source pollution precaution and control (Prof. Lihong, Xue); (2) Agricultural biodiversity investigation and utilization (Prof. Yan, Ma and Hongbo, Shao); (3) Climate change and agro-meteorological disaster prevention and reduction (Prof. Linchun, Shi)
