Deputy Director Wang Bizun of the Institute of Banana and Plantain (IBP), Chinese Academy of Tropical Agricultural Sciences (CATAS) led a delegation of 5 scientists to the Institute of Agricultural Economics and Information (IAEI), JAAS from May 12 to 13, 2013.
Deputy Director Cao Hongxin of IAEI received CATAS scientists on May 12. Deputy Director Wang Bizun briefed IBP, CATAS and wished to seek further cooperation opportunities with IAEI in tropical crops information research and application.
Deputy Director Cao introduced IAEI’s recent progress in information agriculture, especially rice/canola information technology, intelligent network measurement and control terminal for modeling-based low-cost protected cultivation, micro air vehicle (MAV) and crop diseases and pests prevention and control, etc.. CATAS scientists spoke highly of IAEI’s research achievements and wished to establish long-term cooperation with JAAS.
The next day, the visiting scientists inspected the experiments of IAEI Project “MAV-Based Intelligent Identification, Prevention and Control System for Horticultural Crop Diseases”. Both sides shared information on some research fields.
