Director Huang Shile of Health Sciences Center of Louisiana State University, an associate professor of Department Biochemistry and Molecular Biology was invited to lecture at the Institute of Veterinary Medicine (IVM) on May 14, 2013. All the scientists and graduate students of IVM and attended the meeting chaired by Director He Kongwang of IVM.
Dr. Huang Shile has long been devoted to the research in antitumor mechanism of artemisinin, mTOR signaling pathway, and cadium-induced apoptosis mechanisms, etc.. Currently, Dr. Huang Shile is the editor of more than ten journals, such as American Journal of Cancer Biology, International Journal of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, etc.. and has published more than forty papers on top international journals like Molecular Cell, Proc Natl Acad Sci, Cancer Research, and so on.
Dr. Huang Shile gave a lecture on “Dihydroartemisinin Inhibition of mTOR signaling”, introducing his team’s latest research progress in using artemisinin to develop natural antineoplastics. After the lecture, Dr. Huang Shile had an in-depth discussion with JAAS scientists on the practical application of cell signaling pathway in antipathogenic infection and immunity.
