JAAS Vice Presidents Lu Xiaoxi and Chang Youhong visited JAAS Waterfowl Experiment Station in Henglin Town, Wujin District, Changzhou and inquired about goosery construction and out-of-season goose breeding technology.
The Waterfowl Experiment Station, built in April 2012, was based in Changzhou Yanghu Goose Cooperatives and technologically supported by the poultry research team of the Institute of Animal Sciences (IAS) of JAAS. The station has built four modern gooseries for the out-of-season reproduction of 5,000 breeding geese. Prof. Shi Zhendan of IAS led researchers to do scientific researches and has maintained the survival rate and laying rate at a stable 40% and 90%.
After listening to Prof. Shi Zhendan and General Manager Qian Shudong’s reports about the station, Vice Presidents Lu Xiaoxi and Chang Youhong spoke highly of their achievements and encouraged the research team to strengthen cooperation with enterprises so as to promote the development of goose-breeding industry and increase farmers’ income.
