In recent years, the scientists of the Institute of Veterinary Medicine (IVM) have been closely tracking the new technologies of vaccine production and application, with particular attention to the emerging technologies.
During his study in the USA, Dr. Feng Zhixin paid an academic visit to AERAS, the global TB vaccine research center, and acquainted himself with the new breakthroughs in powered vaccines. At his invitation, Dr. Jin Zhigang of AERAS (Aeras Global TB Vaccine Research Center) came for academic exchanges with IVM scientists.
On August 18th, Dr. Jin made an academic report in IVM, covering the research progress of dry powder vaccine in medical fields and the prospects and technical difficulties of the spray drying technology development in animal vaccines.
IVM Director He Kongwang and Deputy Director Shao Guoqing also held in-depth discussions with Dr. Jin on animal bacterial vaccines, new viral vector vaccines and the key techniques of dried powder vaccine of swine mycoplasmal pneumonia in particular. They reached an initial cooperation framework for the early-stage R&D of dry powder vaccine of swine mycoplasmal pneumonia.
