Prof. Wang Siqun of the University of Tennessee was invited to lecture at JAAS. Prof. Zhang Yang of Nanjing Forestry University, Secretary-General Xia Guohua of Northern Jiangsu Artificial Board Industry Association, and JAAS scientists in forage research attended the lecture.
Prof. Wang has long been committed to the research in wood-based composites, bio-based materials and nanocomposites, etc.. Enjoying a very high reputation in American wood science research, he has been involved in 16 USDA key projects, applied 7 patents, published more than 130 papers, and won 13 research and teaching awards.
In his lecture on “Biobased Materials at Micro- and Nano-scale Levels: Manufacturing, Characterization and Application”, Prof. Wang introduced the latest research progress of UT in artificial board, wood-plastic composites, nanocomposites, and nanomechanics. Then, he led a heated discussion with JAAS scientists on relevant research areas.
Both sides reached an agreement on the collaboration in transgenetic improvement of pnnisetumpurpureum pglaucum and industrialization of vegetation composites.
