"Bio-protection Experiment Station" of the Institute of Plant Protection (IPP) of JAAS inaugurated in Dongshan Agricultural Science and Technology Park, Suzhou. The park covers an area of 1700 mu (113.3 hectare) and produces 15,000 tons of vegetables annually.
Deputy Magistrate Yang Zhongxing of Dongshan Town and Director Yuan Aiping of IPP gave a brief introduction of both sides, and Director Fang Jichao and Chairman He Shicheng of People's Congress of Dongshan Town unveiled the plate for the station.
The establishment of “Bio-protection Experiment Station” is a platform for IPP to transform scientific research into actual production. It is also helpful for scientists to find research topics from production and thus promote the transformation and extension of new achievements and technologies. As for Dongshan Town, with the scientific support of IPP, agricultural production can better meet the market demand and therefore could enhance agricultural productivity and farmers’ income.
