A delegation from Egerton University (Kenya)

Prof. James K. Tuitoek, president of Egerton University (Kenya), led a delegation for a return visit to JAAS on October 23, 2012. JAAS President Yan Shaohua, Vice President Chang Youhong and relevant directors attended the reception. During the meeting, President Yan extended warm welcome to the reception and introduced the latest research results of JAAS and the extension services. Prof. James K. Tuitoek showed great interest in JAAS’s controlled utilization of water hyacinth, comprehensive treatment of water eutrophication, and the new horticulture varieties and corresponding techniques. According to Prof. James K. Tuitoek, several large lakes in Kenya suffered from the overgrowth of water eutrophication, which severely damaged local agriculture production and people’s living. Egerton University wished to carry out substantial cooperation with JAAS in controlled utilization of water hyacinth and both sides reached an agreement for long-term cooperation. After the meeting, the delegation had a guided tour to the Institute of Food Safety and Monitoring Technology and JAAS Expo.
