Bio-control techniques for tomato soil-borne diseases getting the media’s attention
An outreach meeting was held in Shuyang (in North Jiangsu Province) by the Institute of Plant Protection to demonstrate new prevention and control techniques for soil-borne diseases in greenhouse tomato cultivation. The meeting was public and open to the press, and was attended by some important media outlets, including Sci-Tech Daily, Nanjing Daily, Jiangsu Agricultural Science and Technology Paper, etc..
The research altered the traditional method of chemical control in soil-borne diseases and the situation of “suspending the cultivation and changing to other arable areas”. The new prevention and control techniques provide a solid technical support for environment-friendly facility vegetable cultivation.
