On June 17, the newly bred peach variety “Jinlinghuanglu” of the Institute of Horticulture was demonstrated and tasted in Fenghuang Agro-Tech Company in Zhangjiagang. More than 60 scientists and technic professionals from National Peach Industry System and major peach areas in Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shanghai attended the activity.
The new peach variety passed acceptance checks by experts from Jiangsu Agricultural Commission and Nanjing Agricultural University on June 22. The experts said it is an elite early-maturing yellow-flesh peach variety with large fruit mass and high yield. It is highly nutritious, rich in antioxidants (α-carotene, β-carotene, lycopene, Vitamin C and free radical fighters).
The traditional canned yellow-flesh peach slices always taste slightly sour. However, the fresh peach slices, which combine the aroma of juicy peaches and the non-solute advantage of canned peach, sweet and moderately sour, are becoming more popular among the consumers.
