Experts organized by Department of Science, Technology and Education of Ministry of Agriculture (MOA), National Agricultural Technology Extension Service Center (NATESC), and Jiangsu Agricultural Commission checked the yield of JAAS demo field of Nanjing 49 in Zehe Village, Zhoushan Town, Gaoyou on October 24. 400 mu (26.67 hectares) of mechanical transplanting rice grows in the demo field.
According to the “Super Rice Confirmation Measures” of MOA (Agricultural Office Branch No. 38), the panel randomly selected three fields, cut and threshed with harvesters (each field cut about 1 mu), and weighed. The standard rice yield was calculated after wiping out the impurity rate and moisture content. Finally, the average yield of the three fields was 797 kg per mu (11,955 kg per hectare). In 2012, the average yield was 826.3 kg per mu (12,394.5 kg per hectare). Both have exceeded 780 kg per mu (11,700 kg per hectare), the National Super Rice Confirmation Standard.
