Student Representatives from JAAS Spring Buds Class in Huaihai Middle School visited JAAS

 

Sun Lihong, vice president of Huaiyin Women's Federation, led ten students as representatives of JAAS Spring Buds Class in Huaihai Middle School to visit JAAS from July 13 to 15, 2011. Vice President Zhou Jiannong, Vice Chairman of Jiangsu Child Welfare Fund Lin Minduan received the delegation and held a seminar.


On the afternoon of July 13, Vice President Zhou Jiannong, Vice Chairman of Jiangsu Child Welfare Fund Lin Minduan, chiefs from JAAS General Office, JAAS Youth League Committee and Jiangsu Child Welfare Fund attended the seminar with the students from Spring Buds Program. Miss Sun Yingchun, head teacher of the Program made an annual work report. Based on her own life experiences, Vice Chairman Lin encouraged the girl students to overcome difficulties, participate in social activities and above all, cherish life and youth. Vice President Zhou Jiannong hoped that these girl students from less fortunate families could be confident and self-reliant. She also encouraged them to have positive life orientation and to treat the present economic difficulties as the wealth of life. Knowledge will equip the girls to become educated and capable women. They will fulfill the dream and make more contributions to the society. The representatives brought with them the letter of thanks of all students who benefited from the program to express their gratitude to JAAS.

 

 

After the seminar, the students had a guided tour to Luhe Animal Sciences Station (LASS), Lishui Plant Sciences Station (LPSS) and Modern Agriculture Science and Technology Demo Park (MASTDP). The tour not only helped them to broaden their horizon, but also acquainted them with JAAS research areas and the trends of modern agriculture development. They also visited the historic sites including Presidential Palace, Confucius Temple, Yuhuatai Martyrs Memorial Park and Dr. Sun Yat-sen's Mausoleum. The visit deepened their understanding of Chinese modern history and offered them a good chance of patriotic education.
