Annual Meeting for Agriculture Consulting Team (ACT) Held in Changzhou

 

Academies of agricultural sciences from Zhejiang, Shanghai and Jiangsu had their 10th ACT annual meeting on August 9, 2011 in Wujin, Changzhou. ACT, jointly established by academies from three provinces, offers agriculture consulting service using state of the art agriculture research results. Vice President Zheng Jianchu from Jiangsu Academy of Agricultural Sciences (JAAS), Vice President Gu Xiaojun from Shanghai Academy of Agricultural Sciences (SAAS) and Deputy Inspector Zhang Mingsheng from Zhejiang Academy of Agricultural Sciences (ZAAS) and other directors attended this meeting.

 

During the meeting, the three academies made separate work reports on 2010 technical service and extension, discussed hot issues and exchanged their research experiences. A handing-over ceremony of chairmanship for the new round cooperation, also as a celebration of the 10th year of ACT since establishment, was held. Retrospecting the past 10 years, the three academies have fully implemented the ACT principle of “three academies for one delta, each academy for three provinces”, strengthened communication and exchanges between scientists and technicians, and introduced advanced techniques through the platform of ACT. In the coming 10 years, ACT will promote technical service and extension projects, closely connect the upstream and downstream of scientific research, and provide the research stations, enterprises, farmers with comprehensive services in information, technical support and elite crop varieties.
