Expert group of Veterinary Medicine and Biotechnology Key Laboratories (VMBKL) of the Ministry of Agriculture visited JAAS

 

A delegation of 6 experts from the Veterinary Medicine and Biotechnology Key Laboratories (VMBKL) of the Ministry of Agriculture made an academic visit to JAAS on April 14, 2011. JAAS Vice President Zhou Jiannong, General Office Director Sun Hongwu and Scientific Research Division Director Fan Yongjian held a reception for the visiting experts. Representatives from the Institute of Veterinary Medicine, National Research Center of Veterinary Biologicals Engineering and Technology, Nanjing Tianbang Bio-Industry Co. Ltd attended the symposium.
 
National Research Center of Veterinary Biologicals Engineering and Technology, one of the Veterinary Medicine and Biotechnology Key Laboratories, is a regional key laboratory of JAAS during the Eleventh Five-Year Plan. The visit of the expert group gave suggestions on the laboratory design, and discipline development and combination.
 

 

During the symposium, Director Xiong Mingmin of the Technology Platform Division of the Science and Technology Bureau of China Academy of Agricultural Sciences (CAAS) stressed the significance in establishing and administrating the first round of regional key laboratories. Director Feng Li of the Scientific Research Division of Harbin Veterinary Medicine Institute of CAAS spoke highly of the achievements JAAS has made in veterinary medicine and others agriculture disciplines. Director Wang Yunfeng made an introduction of the layout and structure of the Veterinary Medicine and Biotechnology Key Laboratories of the Ministry of Agriculture. He Kongwang, director of the Institute of Veterinary Medicine of JAAS made a report on the key laboratories of JAAS and the main tasks during the Twelfth Five-Year Plan. After that, the visiting guests and JAAS scientists had an in-depth discussion on construction and evaluation of laboratories, administrative system and development modes of discipline combination, research goals and functions of integrated laboratories during the Twelfth Five-Year Plan period, etc.
 

 

After the symposium, the expert group had a guided tour to the Animal Test Station, the Institute of the Veterinary Medicine and National Research Center of Veterinary Biologicals Engineering and Technology.
