A group of senior scientists in the Institute of Agricultural Resources and Environment (IARE) of JAAS traveled north in the first month of this year to have academic exchanges with its counterpart in Heilongjiang Academy of Agricultural Sciences (HAAS) and the School of Resources and Environment of Northeast Agricultural University (NEAU), aiming at increasing academic exchanges of the two institutions and strengthen research cooperation with each other.
Founded in 1956, Institute of Agricultural Resources and Environment of HAAS has been engaged in the research work of soil resource management, nutrition diagnosis of plants and crops and the R&D of new fertilizers, and has won 6 national awards and 15 provincial awards for technological advances. In particular, its research station for conducting long-term stationary experiments on black soil fertility has been awarded the title of Key Field Station by the Ministry of Agriculture. During JAAS visit, scientists from both parties exchanged information on research of the utilization of agricultural wastes and farmland quality management. Proposed by Wei Dan, director of IARE in HAAS, an Agreement on Strategic Technological Cooperation covering the aspects of talents training, international communications and cooperation, establishing the system of personnel visit exchange and training and creating an innovative technology platform and a research management platform, was signed between the two complementary parties in the spirit of openness and under the principle of mutual benefit and common development. Chang Zhizhou, director of IARE of JAAS, also invited Wei and her team members to JAAS as was stated in the agreement. The group also visited the School of Resources and Environment of NEAU afterwards.
