Division of Scientific Research Held Work Conference for 2011 National Natural Science Fund Research Project Application

In order to keep the application work for National Natural Science Fund in smooth progress, the Division of Scientific Research convened a work conference on January 12, 2011. Vice president Chang Youhong attended the conference and gave important speeches. Directors and administrators in charge of scientific research in all institutes took part in the conference.
 
The Project Planning Office of the Division of Scientific Research conveyed the messages from 2010 work conference of Jiangsu networked science foundations. The Office reviewed the application work of National Natural Science Fund and the financial support JAAS received from 2008 to 2010, introduced in particular the new policies and relevant requirements for the 2011 application.
 
"Application for National Natural Science Fund is the urgent need of JAAS to promote innovation abilities and increase scientific outputs", Vice President Chang Youhong pointed out in his summary. He also demanded that every department and institute should further their understanding and place great emphasis on the application work. According to him, JAAS will continue to provide policy guidance and encourage the technicians, especially the young, to practice skills through undertaking basic and applied basic research projects. He hoped the young technicians to improve research abilities, accumulate experiences and create more and broader opportunities. He repeated in the end that every department and institute should organize the technicians to learn the application requirements and pay close attention to the policy changes this year. The quality of application documents should be guaranteed. The Scientific Research Division and the Scientific Research Management Offices of the institutes should learn from and inherit the good practices in previous applications, and try to continue the high rate of project establishments.
