Meeting held to promote cooperation on veterinary vaccines between academies and enterprises

 
Meeting was held to promote cooperation on veterinary vaccines between academies and enterprises on April 24, 2012 at JAAS. 37 representatives from 28 veterinary bio-products enterprises nationwide were invited to the meeting. JAAS Vice President Yu Wengui, Director Chen Zhishi and Deputy Director Zhang Chuxian of the Intellectual Property Division, scientists of the Institute of Veterinary Medicine and National Engineering Center for Veterinary Bio-products and journalists of relevant mass media attended the meeting, which was chaired by Director Chen Zhishi of the Intellectual Property Division and Deputy Director Shao Guoqing of the Institute of Veterinary Medicine.
 
Vice President Yu Wengui extended warm welcome to the entrepreneurs and hoped for a win-win situation of close cooperation, advantage complementation, resource sharing and mutual development.
 
Director He Kongwang of the Institute of Veterinary Medicine and Deputy Director Hou Jibo of National Engineering Center for Veterinary Bio-products introduced the development history of JAAS veterinary medicine researches, and recommended 20 innovated veterinary vaccine results, including 17 vaccines (swine, poultry and rabbits), 2 antibodies and immunopotentiators and 1 large scale production technique. These research results are among the cutting-edge veterinary vaccine techniques and their extension can help to avoid the economic loss due to relevant animal diseases, to effectively reduce the production cost and to create positive social benefits.
 

 
Representatives from the enterprises expressed their wishes to carry out cooperation, inquired in detail about the technical transfer and presented suggestions for future research directions. Some of the representatives visited the Institute of Veterinary Medicine and National Engineering Center for Veterinary Bio-products and had initial discussions with relevant scientists on cooperation details.
