Deputy Director Ouyang Haihong led a delegation from Agricultural Produce Processing Bureau of Ministry of Agriculture (MoA, P.R.China) to the Sub-center of National Vegetable Processing R&D Center at JAAS on March 10, 2012. Deputy Director Ouyang and JAAS President Yan Shaohua unveiled the plague for the Sub-center. The delegation also visited National Agricultural Science and Technology (Jiangsu) Innovation Center--Engineering Research Center for Agricultural Products Processing(hereafter referred as the Center) and held a seminar with relevant directors and scientists. Director Liu Chunquan of the Center, Director Huang Jun of Research Management Division, Director Xu Hongbin and Deputy Directors Yao Fengteng and Sun Jiaxiang of Luhe Animal Sciences Station, Assoc. Prof. Li Dajing of the Institute of Agricultural Produce Processing attended the reception. The delegation also included Director Zhao Chujun of Industry Division and Prof. Liang Yi of Agricultural Produce Processing Division of Agricultural Produce Processing Bureau(MoA, P.R.China).
During the meeting, Prof. Liu Chunquan introduced the construction, development and major research tasks of the Center during the Twelfth Five-Year Plan Period. Deputy Director Ouyang spoke highly of its research focus on specialty agricultural produce and the technology system. He proposed that, during the Twelfth Five-Year Plan Period, the Center would place more emphasis on the fresh-keeping of the greens and become one the top 100 centers nationwide. On the other hand, talent cultivation and introduction should be strengthened and the same efforts should be made in invention and manufacturing of agricultural machinery, especially those used for agricultural produce processing. He also promised that the Agricultural Produce Processing Bureau(MoA, P.R.China) will provide inclined support in facilities and equipment. JAAS President Yan Shaohua stressed the JAAS research objectives on farm produce processing and pledges to spare more efforts in the integration of relevant technologies and facilities and to make more contributions in the promotion of the Center to become top 100.
