Xu Weicheng, technical manager of Merial(China), was invited to the Institute of Veterinary Medicine and gave two lectures on Accurate, Authentic and Reliable--the Principles and Methods in Animal Research Experiments Design and Practice and Animal Research Experiments Control and Summary Writing. All the researchers and graduate students of the National Research Center of Veterinary Biological Engineering and Technology and the Institute of Veterinary Medicine attended the lectures.
Merial (French, a world-leading animal health company) has a history of more than 20 years in China and Merial (China) has cooperated with the Institute of Veterinary Medicine in several research projects. In his lectures, Xu introduced Merial’s practice and experiences in animal research experiments from the perspectives of research objectives, organization and reliability and proposed that the research objectives should be focused and specific, and the criteria for immune dose should be practicability. His assistant, Wu Chunrong elaborated on possible problems, precautionary measures and solutions on animal research experiments. After the lectures, Xu also held extensive discussions with JAAS scientists on the whole-process monitoring of the experiments.
