In the end of 2011, the general offices of the Ministry of Agriculture and the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League announced the first 100 demonstration bases for agricultural popularization to the youth and Lishui Plant Sciences Station (LPSS) of JAAS was included.
LPSS Director Chen Heming and other chiefs attended the 1st Symposium on the Construction of Demonstration Bases for Agricultural Popularization to the Youth in Haikou from March 14 to 16, 2012. The symposium presented the plagues to relevant institutions, reviewed the screening of demo bases in 2011 and deployed the key tasks in 2012. The attendants attended the lectures on demo base construction and management, exchanges their experiences and had a guided tour to one of the first 100 demo bases—Spice and Beverage Research Institute, Chinese Academy of Tropical Agricultural Sciences.
LPSS directors promised that they will take advantage of the nomination and strengthen the implementation of relevant laws and initiatives, enhance science extension and display latest research results and innovations, actively carry out popularization activities and nourish scientific thoughts and methods among the youth.
