Meeting for 2012 South New Mungbean and Adzuki Bean Varieties Experiment and Demonstration of National Edible Beans Industrial Technology System

 
Hosted by the R&D Center of National Edible Beans Industrial Technology System and undertaken by the Institute of Vegetable Crops of JAAS, the meeting for 2012 South New Mungbean and Adzuki Bean Varieties Experiment and Demonstration was held at JAAS from June 1 to 2, 2012. The meeting was an implementation of the key tasks of National Edible Beans Industrial Technology System, and also provided a platform for inter-regional communication and cooperation. More than 20 chief scientists, principal investigators, experiment station directors and technicians attended the meeting.
 
 
The meeting was chaired by Prof. Chen Xin, expert of pest control in South China of National Edible Beans Industrial Technology System and deputy director of the Institute of Vegetable Crops of JAAS. Prof. Fang Zhenghuang, expert of pest control in Central and North China, Assoc. Prof. Gu Heping, expert of pest control in South China, Director Zhang Liya of Hefei Comprehensive Experiment Station, Director Wang Xuejun of Nantong Comprehensive Experiment Station, Director Zhu Xu of Nanyang Comprehensive Experiment Station, Director Zhang Jijun of Chongqing Comprehensive Experiment Station and Director Zhang Xiaoyan of Qingdao Comprehensive Experiment Station all made reports on the achievements and existing problems in local mungbean and Adzuki bean cultivation and carried out in-depth discussions.
 

 
Prof. Cheng Xuzhen, chief scientist of National Edible Beans Industrial Technology System, made a closing speech. She spoke highly of the achievements, presented suggestions on exiting problems and called for cohesion and coordination during the Twelfth Five-Year Plan Period.
  
After the meeting, the attendants visited the experiment fields for pest control, observed the pesticide test for leaf spots of broad beans and the experiments for disease-resistance of broad beans collected from different regions.
