2012 Social practice activities for JAAS and NAU graduate students began

The launching ceremony of 2012 social practice activities for JAAS and Nanjing Agricultural University (NAU) graduate students was held on July 12. The ceremony was chaired by Deputy Director Chen Xiaoqiang of JAAS Human Resources Division. JAAS Vice President Zhou Jiannong, NAU Deputy Secretary Hua Yachun of CPC Party Committee, Director Shen Jianxin of JAAS Personnel Division, and Associate Dean Liu Zhaolei of NAU Graduate School were invited to the ceremony.

JAAS Vice President Zhou Jiannong made a concise speech, in which she pointed out the meaning and purposes of the social practice activities and put forward three requirements: first, the graduates should be mentally and physically prepared to endure hardships; second, they should seize the opportunity and learn through practice; finally, they should cooperate to accomplish the tasks. In addition, she also told them to keep safe.

As the famous Chinese saying goes, in order to attain wisdom, it is not enough merely to read books, you must be well travelled as well. NAU Deputy Secretary Hua Yachun of CPC Party Committee said social practice was very important to students’ growth. He proposed that students apply their professional knowledge in the practice, improve themselves to better serve the society, and harvest a fruitful summer.

Tang Juan, a graduate representative from the Institute of Horticulture, ensured they would seize the opportunity and cooperate with each other to accomplish all the practice tasks.

The social practice activities will be carried out in the bases in the southern, middle and northern parts of Jiangsu Province. The flag presentation ceremony was also held, and the graduates got a short training. From July 13, three teams will begin their one-week social practice activities.
