Prof. Wang Jihua, deputy director of National Engineering Research Center for Information Technology in Agriculture, visited JAAS and held discussions on agricultural remote sensing with JAAS researchers on December 1, 2011.
Prof. Wang Jihua, a senior scientist in geoscience in China who has been devoted to the frontier researches of agricultural remote sensing, showed his interest in JAAS’s application for agricultural remote sensing projects and their research progresses. Dr. Li Weiguo of JAAS agricultural remote sensing research group made a detailed work report on the research projects of National High Technology Research and Development Program of China (863 Program), National Natural Science Foundation of China and Jiangsu Agriculture Science and Technology Innovation Fund (JASTIF). The report covered JAAS research progresses in crop growth remote monitoring, yield and quality estimation, insect disease remote monitoring and remote sensing innovation systems, etc. Wang’s visit deepened his understanding of JAAS’s research in agricultural remote sensing, which is crucial for further cooperation and exchanges.
