Dr. Wan Xiufeng from Mississippi State University (MSU) lectured at the Institute of Veterinary Medicine

 
Dr. Wan Xiufeng of College of Veterinary Medicine at MSU was invited give a lecture on “One FLU for One Health, Highly Pathogenic H5N1 Avian Influenza Virus-Continuous Threat” at the Institute of Veterinary Medicine of JAAS on February 10, 2012. Scientists and technicians of the Institute of Veterinary Medicine and National Center of Engineering Research for Veterinary Bio-products attended the lecture.
 

 
Dr. Wan made a systematic presentation on the prevalence and development of influenza virus among humans and animals throughout the world, introduced the researches on pathogenic mechanism of cross-species infection and on genetic variation prediction with the methods of mathematical model, computer model and bioinformatics. He held in-depth discussions with JAAS researches on swine influenza variation and carbohydrate chip. After the meeting, Dr. Wan also talked about Dr. Feng Zhixin’s visit to MSU.
