Prof. Ren Zhaojun of Sanda Genetech Inc.(U.S.A.) made an academic visit to National Center of Engineering Research for Veterinary Bio-products of JAAS, and discussed with JAAS scientists on technical cooperation of T4 phage display from February 13 to 24, 2012.
Prof. Ren Zhaojun has long been engaged in phage display researches, and T4 phage display system (T4-S-GPDS and T4-M-SPES) has already acquired invention patent, with successful display of several animal viral antigens.
During his visit, Prof. Ren visited the labs of National Center of Engineering Research for Veterinary Bio-products, gave a lecture on T4 phage display and held an extensive and in-depth discussion with JAAS researches on phage display techniques. Deputy Director Hou Jibo of National Center of Engineering Research for Veterinary Bio-products signed the authorization agreement on T4 phage display with Prof. Ren. After the signing ceremony, Prof. Ren carried out a nine-day training for relevant scientists and technicians.
It is reported that T4 phage is a newly developed and industrialized phage vector (55×110nm) by the U.S.A and used for the display of foreign protein-coding genes and thus has broad market prospects in bio-medicine industry.
