Workshop held for Jiangsu wheat production households, cooperatives and enterprises

 
Hosted by Industry Economy Research Lab, Yanjiang Comprehensive Experiment Station and other sectors of National Wheat Industry System, and undertaken by the Institute of Biotechnology of JAAS, the workshop for Jiangsu wheat production households, cooperatives and enterprises was successfully held in Suzhou. More than 171 representatives from large wheat households, enterprises and cooperatives from 13 cities took part in the training.
 

 
Prof. Han Yijun, director of Industry Economy Research Lab of National Wheat Industry System and director of the Institute of Policy Researches of Agricultural Trade Promotion Center, Ministry of Agriculture (MoA, P. R. China) chaired the opening ceremony. Prof. Xiao Shihe, chief scientist of National Wheat Industry System and Secretary Qin Jianguo of CPC Suzhou Municipal Committee made important speeches during the ceremony.
 

 
Academician Chen Shunhe, director of wheat breeding lab, gave a lecture on Moderate Scale Produce: the Only Way to Improve Wheat Industry. Director Han Yijun, Director Zhong Yongling of Information Analysis Division of Information Center, Ministry of Agriculture (MoA, P. R. China), Dr. Jiang Nan of Rural Economy Research Center (MoA, P. R. China), Prof. Guo Wenshan of the School of Agriculture of Yangzhou University, Prof. Ma Hongxiang of JAAS, Prof. Wang Longjun of Jiangsu Crop Cultivation Station, Prof. Jiang Dong of Nanjing Agriculture University, Prof. Wang Weizhong of Huai’an Institute of Agricultural Sciences made separate speeches centering around the workshop theme. The speeches covered different aspects in wheat production, including the production situation, policy and enlightenments, market trends, breeding, cultivation techniques and stress tolerance and multi-resistances pyramiding. The workshop was a new and efficient approach, making use of the radiation effect of big households, cooperatives and enterprises, and it was also an opportunity to promote technical extension and to lay a foundation for stable wheat yield growth in China.
