Research directions:
1. Edible Legumes
Focusing on the dried bean grain crops such as mung bean, adzuki bean and broad bean as research objects, the lab conducts researches in the following areas: (1) germplasm collection, sorting, genetic evaluation and innovation of edible legume crops; (2) high yield , high-efficiency, safe, multi-resistance edible legume crops breeding and research and development of major breeding techniques; (3) study on high-yield and high-efficiency cultivation techniques of edible legume crops; (4) large-scale demonstration and extension of new varieties, new technologies and new models of edible legumes.
2. Fresh Edible Legumes
Mainly taking cowpea, green beans, vegetable peas and vegetable soybeans (edamame) as research objects, carry out research work in the following areas: (1) Collection, evaluation and utilization of fresh bean germplasm resources, carry out selection and breeding of new crop varieties of high-quality, multi-resistant and high-yield legume crops; (2) Research on molecular breeding methods of fresh legume crops, mainly for molecular marker-assisted selection of vegetable legume crops and gene cloning and functional analysis of important traits; (3) Research on high-quality, high-yield and high-efficiency safe cultivation techniques for fresh legume crops; (4) Experiment and demonstration of new varieties, new technologies and new models of fresh legumes.
3. Grain Soybean
With the grain soybeans as the main research focus, the lab conducts research work in the following areas: (1) soybean germplasm collection, evaluation and utilization, selection and breeding of new crop varieties of high-quality, multi-resistance and high-yield soybean; (2) research on molecular breeding methods of soybean, mainly for molecular marker-assisted selection of soybeans, gene cloning and functional analysis of important traits; (3) research on high-quality, high-yield and high-efficiency safe cultivation techniques for soybeans; (4) experiment and demonstration of new varieties, new technologies and new models of soybeans.
